OUR NEW VESSEL, THE KENAI FJORDS 360 Expanding your views of Kenai Fjords National Park
Our brand-new, custom-built catamaran, the Kenai Fjords 360, arrived in Seward in April 2018. This state-of-the-art vessel was specially designed to offer the best wildlife viewing opportunities possible. The Kenai Fjords 360 wheelhouse is located on the second deck, rather than the third deck like most catamarans, leaving the third deck entirely open as a viewing area. The vessel also has fully-wraparound outside viewing decks on the first and second decks, as well as large picture windows throughout the inside cabins an both decks. The Kenai Fjords 360 offers more exterior deck space and vantage points for wildlife viewing than any other vessel in our fleet.
The spacious interior features two levels of seating for 150 passengers inside the comfortable, heated cabins. Snack and beverage bars are available on the first and second decks. The full-service bar serves local and domestic beer, wine, and signature cocktails including our popular Glacier Margarita.
Exterior Deck Space: 3 levels with unobstructed 360 degree views on top deck
Covered Awning: 3rd level
Cruising Speed: 26 knots/30 mph
Wheelchair Accessible: First deck, inside the main cabin only. Outside deck is not wheelchair accessible.
THE JOURNEY OF THE KENAI FJORDS 360
The Kenai Fjords 360 was custom built by Mavrik Marine, a company that specializes in the construction of aluminum boats based in La Connor, Washington. Two Major Marine Tours captains, Captain Kayleigh Paulin and Captain John Coffey, took up residence in La Connor for months to oversee the construction of the vessel. Captain Kayleigh and Captain John drove the boat from La Connor to Seward in April 2018, covering about 1300 nautical miles. The journey took 10 days, including 5 day stopover in Juneau along the way.
