EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Operating in Alaska since 1990, Major Marine Tours offers wildlife and glacier cruises in Seward, Alaska. Our boats range in length from 58’ to 115’, carrying 36 to 200 guests with multiple trips daily. It is our mission to provide high-quality, educational cruise experiences at a superior value to our guests. As a company, we are committed to the delivery of exceptional customer service and satisfaction. We recognize that our team of employees is our greatest resource for living up to this commitment.

During our cruise season we employ about 60 seasonal employees in Seward. Our peak hiring time for seasonal positions is January 15th – April 15th.

OUR JOBS

We hire for the following seasonal positions: Customer Service/Sales Staff, Deckhand and Senior Deckhand Crew, Engineering, Inventory/Dock Support, Cooks, and occasionally licensed Captains. Click here for a list of currently available jobs.

OUR LIFESTYLE

In addition to competitive hourly wages (determined upon experience), employees also receive complimentary trips on any company cruise and great discounts for friends and family. We encourage every employee to take advantage of the pristine beauty and adventure that Alaska has to offer. With plenty of time throughout the season, employees are encouraged to hike, kayak, camp, bonfire, fish, and partake in all summer festivities. These are just some of the perks of working in tourism in Alaska.

Major Marine Tours offers shared dormitory housing options in Seward. Housing is limited and must be requested at the time of hire in order to be considered. Fees for employee housing start at $15 per night, depending on location and based on double occupancy. Eligible employees are required to sign a housing agreement, comply with company housing policies, and respect the privacy of others. Alcohol is not allowed in employee housing. Housing is optional, but encouraged for seasonal hires looking to build lasting relationships with crewmates. Employee housing is not available in Anchorage.

Employees are responsible for booking their transportation to and from Anchorage, Alaska. Anyone traveling from out of state will receive a $400 travel reimbursement upon the completion of their contract. A seasonal bonus may be issued at the completion of the summer
