Our brand-new, custom-built catamaran, the Kenai Fjords 360, has finally arrived in Seward! The vessel completed its journey to Seward from La Connor, Washington on Monday, April 30th. This state-of-the-art vessel features unobstructed 360 degree views from the third deck, with additional viewing space from the fully-wraparound outer decks on the first and second levels. Passenger comfort and environmental sustainability were two of the top priorities when designing the vessel. The Kenai Fjords 360 has snack and beverage bars on the first and second decks, ample seating space, and is equipped with EPA Tier III, fuel-efficient, and low emission engines.
“This custom-built catamaran was designed so our passengers could have a unique and memorable experience viewing glaciers, wildlife and scenery,” said owner, Tom Tougas. “As a locally-owned company that has been investing in Alaska’s tourism industry for more than two decades, we are certainly thrilled to introduce this new vessel to our fleet and to be able to take more Alaskans and visitors out to experience and appreciate the stunning beauty of Kenai Fjords National Park.”
The Kenai Fjords 360 was specially designed to offer the best wildlife viewing opportunities. Rather than having the wheelhouse on the third deck like most catamarans, the Kenai Fjords 360 wheelhouse is located on the second deck, leaving the third deck entirely open for viewing. The vessel also has fully-wraparound outside viewing decks on the first and second decks. The Kenai Fjords 360 will board directly behind the Seward Harbor 360 Hotel, and will be one of two vessels that operates our 6 Hour Kenai Fjords National Park Cruise.
